WELCOME TO CELTIC SEA

The latest incarnation of Celtic Sea consists of a crew of five band members that perform across Eastern Ontario. We specialize in Celtic, Maritime & Medieval music that ranges from jigs, reels and marches to whaling songs, sea shanteys and songs to lighten up any burial at sea.

We perform at all sorts of functions: weddings, wakes, dances, festivals, kitchen parties with a ceilidh thrown in here and there for good measure.  One thing for sure, we love to play for lively crowds and encourage everyone to sing along, clog along, drink along and have fun.

EMBARK ON A VOYAGE WITH US

Take this opportiunity to meet our crew of brigands, scallywags and ruffians and learn a thing or three about each member.  While you are at it, check the Ship's Log to see what  ports we have visited and then scope out the ports we are scheduled to visit in the future.  Why not go one step down the ladder further and hear some of our music, see clips from a few of gigs as well as some candid photography (nudge nudge, wink wink, know what I mean, know what I mean) of our past actions.  But don't stop there, you can even see a list of the songs we have been known to perform.

When you are through with your visit, please don't forget to sign the Captain's Guestbook to let us know you have been onboard.  We are always interested to hear your squawking so feel free to enter your gripes on the Captain's Blog.  We really hope you will attend one of our shows and get the Celtic Sea experience first hand.  Check us out on Facebook and become a "Friend of Celtic Sea" as well as on MySpace.

A GEOGRAPHY LESSON

Is there really a "Celtic Sea"?

Why yes Dorothy the Celtic Sea does exist and is the area of the Atlantic Ocean off the south coast of Ireland. It is bounded to the east by Saint George's Channel, the Bristol Channel, the English Channel, and the Bay of Biscay, as well as adjacent portions of Wales, Cornwall, Devon, and Brittany. The southern and western boundaries are based on the continental shelf.

TRIVIA

When you search for Celtic Sea on the internet, 99% of the time your search engine is going to direct you to Celtic Sea Salt.  And that is all well and great but we doubt you will get as much enjoyment and pleasure out of the salt as you will from our band. To be clear, we have no problems or issues with Celtic Sea Salt although we all try to keep our sodium intake down to the daily recommended dosage.
